Rental Fraud

According to Action Fraud, rental fraud has cost UK renters more than £20m since April 2014.

Criminals will mislead renters and trick them into paying up front fees, deposits or advance rent, leading victims to believe that a property belongs to them when it doesn’t.

The fraudsters will place fake adverts for properties to rent by stealing property information and photographs from lettings agents own websites, private landlords advert etc.

Never pay any money until you or a reliable contact, has viewed the property with a letting agent or landlord.

Remember we will never ask for payment via social media, if you are unsure if a payment request is genuine please check with us direct by calling our office.

If you suspect an ad is a scam, report it to Action Fraud and they will be able to act.
